A day strolling the streets of Milan. So much to see, so little time.

#25 Duomo: Up there.

We went to Milan with the children. Of course I had to take them to the Duomo's roof. 250 steps later, we were face to face with gargoyles and saints.

#24 I wonder

I wonder what hides behind old doors. Memories of lives past, echoes of people coming and going, the threads of their stories crossing this portal over and over again.

#23 A door with heart

We went to Briancon, France today. We met with good friend, and I took her boys with me. They will stay with us for a week. I expect a lot of music in the air and a lot of food on the table.

#22 Found

Today, after our run on the trail with my friend, we stopped to chat a while. While we talked, our dogs kept themselves entertained chewing these pods. I have no idea what they are, or what they are called, but they sure are beautiful.

#20 Oxidized

The sun came out for a total of half an hour, long enough to go the the old "borgo" and shoot some more brown. I love the yin-yan balance of these image.

#19 Homebound

My boy is sick. We stayed home all day. He read and played the guitar. I cooked and enjoyed his company.

#18 Our lady of the Duomo

This lady stands in front of the Duomo in Milan -rain or shine- and loudly speaks her mind to all.
This is an image from February of this year, I am posting it in lieu of today's shot.

#17 Butterfly

Sometimes you don't have to go looking for your picture, it just shows up at your window.

#16 Shades of Brown

Brown does not have to be dark. I love this image, it is almost like an abstract painting... most of my pictures are... I get so close that scale reference is lost, and all I am left with is color and shape. I am learning a lot about myself with this project. Half way through brown... I wonder what the next color will bring.

#15 Italy in a bag

From the series of cities "in a bag" from MUJI, a little Italian vista. If only one could take a gondola to visit Rome...

#13 Vecchio Borgo

Our tittle town is full of beauty, centuries old beauty. This picture makes me really happy with its mixture of time, wine, and architecture. You have to love Italy!

#12 Garden Gnome

They are everywhere in Italy. No self respected gardener will do without them. My neighbor has several, and every spring he gets a new one... maybe I will get to see Snow-white before I move.

#11 Type me

My grandfather's typewriter. He wrote plays, and his daily column for the local newspaper on it. It still works, I just don't dare use it yet.

#9 Moca sleeping

Our sweet dog, our brown dog. She just doesn't like the camera. I had to wait until she didn't notice.

Beautiful, giant pile of food in a nearby field. Always wanted to photograph it, 2 years later I have... Winter will bring a white coat, and I will be back!

#2 Old Church Door

There is an abandoned church in my town, beautiful in its decay.
Brown is a favorite color of mine, here it shows its organic elegance for all to see.
